A Silver Alert is in effect Monday for a 70-year-old man reported missing in the Western Heights neighborhood near central Los Angeles.
Jiwoon Yoo was last seen at approximately 3 p.m. Saturday near South Manhattan Place and West Washington Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Yoo is Asian, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighs 190 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes. Authorities say Yoo is believed to be traveling on foot.
Anyone who has seen Yoo or knows of his whereabouts was asked to call 911.
The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
