A suspect was taken into custody Friday by police after a chase through South L.A. turned into a perimeter search.
The pursuit began about 11:25 Friday in the area of 67th and Mettler streets, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
It was unclear why police initially attempted to stop the person.
The chase ended in the 3700 block of South La Brea Avenue in Baldwin Hills when the suspect stopped and ran from the vehicle. Officers conducted a search in and around a Dollar Tree store at 3710 South La Brea Ave., according to a report from the scene.
The LAPD reported that the suspect was located and taken into custody around 12:10 p.m.
A description of the suspect was not provided.
