It took less than an hour Saturday for firefighters to put out flames in about one acre of grass on a hill in the Elysian Park area of Los Angeles.
The fire was reported at 2:14 p.m. Saturday at 1340 N. Stadium Way, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Jamie Stewart.
The fire was moving slowly in light fuel up-slope near a radio tower, Stewart said. A water-dropping helicopter was requested.
At 3:02 p.m., Stewart reported that forward progress of the fire stopped and that a Los Angeles County Fire Department hand crew would take over the mop-up stage.
