A woman in her late-70s was killed when she was struck by a vehicle, whose driver did not stop, while crossing a street in the Westwood area of Los Angeles, authorities said Saturday.
The crash was reported at 10:10 p.m. Friday on Wilshire Boulevard at Malcolm Avenue, according to a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman.
The woman was crossing outside of a crosswalk and was struck by the vehicle that was moving southwest on Wilshire Boulevard, he said.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, the spokesman said.
A description of the vehicle that fled the scene was not available.
