A 34-year-old man pleaded guilty Monday and was immediately sentenced to 13 years in prison for shooting two other men in a downtown bar in Orange.

Andrew Phillip Gonzalez got into a dispute at a bar just after midnight early Jan. 13, 2024, in the 200 block of West Chapman Avenue, about a quarter-mile west of The City Drive, and shot two victims, according to Lt. Phil McMullen of the Orange Police Department.

Officers patrolling in the area heard the gunfire and rushed to the bar, where they found the two men who had sustained wounds that were not considered life-threatening, McMullen said.

Gonzalez pleaded guilty to attempted murder and two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, all felonies. He also admitted sentencing enhancements for inflicting great bodily injury, shooting a gun and personal use of a gun.
