A person believed to be a pedestrian was struck and killed Friday by a bus in Santa Monica.
The person was struck at about 2:40 p.m. Friday near Main Street and Ocean Park Boulevard, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.
No details of the crash were immediately released, but unconfirmed reports from the scene indicated a pedestrian was fatally struck by a bus. Video from the scene showed both a Santa Monica Big Blue Bus and a Metro bus stopped at the intersection, with police gathered primarily around the Santa Monica bus. A police command post was established at the location.
Northbound Main Street was closed at Hill Street while police continued the investigation Friday afternoon.
