Firefighters knocked down a trash chute fire Sunday at an apartment building in Encino, authorities said.

Firefighters were dispatched at 10:59 a.m. Sunday to 17914 W. Magnolia Blvd., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The fire was held in place by the building’s fire sprinkler system and there was no extension into the building other than smoke, the department said.

No injuries were reported.
