A motorist was arrested for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant and another motorist was cited for allegedly being an unlicensed driver during a driver’s license/sobriety checkpoint in La Quinta, authorities said Sunday.
One motorist was cited for driving on a suspended license and five people received various traffic citations during the checkpoint, held at Washington Street and Avenue 47 from 6 p.m. Saturday until midnight, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The department reported that 1,375 vehicles were contacted at the checkpoint, with nine vehicles subjected to a second screening. Two field sobriety tests were conducted.
