A brush fire scorched about 35 acres Monday in Lancaster before being quickly extinguished, with no reported injuries.

Firefighters responded at approximately 1:25 p.m. Monday to a brush fire initially reported at 100 acres near North 70th Street West and West Avenue I, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The fire was downgraded to 35 acres and fully contained at 2:09 p.m., with several fire crews remaining on scene to ensure all hot spots were doused and to conduct a cleanup operation.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
