A 38-year-old man was behind bars Thursday on suspicion of fatally shooting a woman investigators believe was his girlfriend.
Siredward Henee Daniels was booked on suspicion of murder, according to Anaheim police Sgt. Matt Sutter.
Daniels is accused of killing 48-year-old Ruchunee Jenny Booncompar of Anaheim, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Daniels was accused of opening fire about 2:45 a.m. Wednesday in the 2200 block of West Huntington Avenue, Sutter said.
Multiple neighbors and someone in the home called 911, Sutter said.
Five residents barricaded themselves in a room while the suspect was firing a gun in and outside of the home. When police arrived they got into a skirmish with the suspect and had to use “minor force” to apprehend him, according to the sergeant.
Police found bullet holes in two neighboring homes, Sutter said.
