A car became fully engulfed in flames Friday, prompting a street closure in Cathedral City.
The blaze was reported shortly before 2:50 p.m. Friday at Varner Road and Bob Hope Drive, according to Riverside County Fire Department, who assisted Cathedral City firefighters.
A temporary closure on Varner Road was placed until crews extinguished the flames.
It was not immediately known if any injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
