A groundbreaking ceremony Friday marked the start of construction on a fully solar county fire station in Valencia.
Los Angeles County Fire Department Deputy Chief Jon O’Brien and Supervisor Kathryn Barger, whose Fifth District includes Valencia, led the ceremony heralding work on Fire Station 46.
The 13,341-square-foot station at 26720 Bombero Lane, on the southeast corner of Bombero and Westridge Parkway, is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2027.
The station’s layout features two apparatus bays to house one engine and a paramedic squad, alongside a barn for three reserve units and dormitory quarters designed for up to 10 personnel.
“The groundbreaking of Fire Station 46 represents a promise to our community that public safety remains a top priority,” Barger said. “In the face of growing wildfire threats and emergencies across our region, this state-of-the-art station will help protect lives, strengthen emergency response, and give residents greater peace of mind.”
