A suspicious device prompted a prolonged bomb squad investigation in the San Fernando Valley Wednesday.

The device was reported at about 9:10 a.m. Wednesday in the 6100 block of Rhodes Avenue in Valley Glen, a few blocks west of the Hollywood (170) Freeway, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Officers went door-knocking asking people to evacuate during the investigation.

The bomb squad operation was ongoing early Wednesday afternoon, according to the LAPD.
