A suspect has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in Pico Rivera, it was announced Friday.
The shooting was reported about 5:15 a.m. Thursday in the 9500 block of Aldrich Street, in a residential area west of the San Gabriel (605) River Freeway and south of Whittier Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
“During the course of the homicide detective’s investigation, a suspect was identified and subsequently located in Riverside County,” according to an LASD statement. “Riverside County Sheriff’s Department (deputies) arrested the suspect for an unrelated charge.
Neither the suspect nor the victim were immediately identified.
The case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration.
