Two 19-year-olds suspected of stealing items from someone at a party in Thousand Palms were arrested Friday.
Rodney Tyler Miker of Thousand Palms and Saul Antonio Duran of Indio were booked into Benoit Detention Center in Indio on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. Duran also faced a probation violation, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies responded to a report of a disturbance at about 11:40 p.m. Saturday in the 31000 block of Robert Road, where they learned someone was allegedly hit on the head with a firearm and had jewelry stolen during an assault.
Authorities identified Miker and Duran as the suspects. The Coachella Valley Gang Task Force served a search warrant in the 83000 block of Manzanita Avenue in Indio, where Duran was found and taken into custody without incident. A second search warrant was executed in the 12000 block of Calle Amapola in Desert Hot Springs, where Miker was found and taken into custody without incident. A semi-automatic handgun was allegedly seized during the search.
The investigation was ongoing, anyone with additional information on the robbery was asked to call the Palm Desert Sheriff’s station at 760-836-1600.
