A 33-year-old man who was fatally shot in Pico Rivera was identified by county authorities Saturday.
Joseph Soto was identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office as the shooting victim. Soto was pronounced dead at the scene.
The shooting was reported about 5:15 a.m. Thursday in the 9500 block of Aldrich Street, in a residential area west of the San Gabriel (605) River Freeway and south of Whittier Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
A suspect has been arrested in connection with Soto’s shooting.
“During the course of the homicide detective’s investigation, a suspect was identified and subsequently located in Riverside County,” according to an LASD statement. “Riverside County Sheriff’s Department (deputies) arrested the suspect for an unrelated charge.
The suspect was immediately identified.
The case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office for filing consideration.
