Deputies from the sheriff’s South Los Angeles station responded at 9:07 p.m. Monday to the 4400 block of Lennox Boulevard, near Hawthorne Boulevard, in Lennox, regarding reports of a shooting. A man who was also shot in the upper body was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
According to reports from the scene, deputies found shell casings on the ground.
Deputies also located an older-model Dodge coupe that had crashed into a building at the northwest corner of Lennox Boulevard and Burin Avenue, with investigators believing the shooting was gang-related, sheriff’s officials said.
