A two-alarm brush fire that burned close to homes in the unincorporated Stevenson Ranch area in the Santa Clarita Valley Monday and prompted an evacuation warning was stopped at 45 acres.
The Max Fire was reported at around 4:20 p.m. near West Magnolia Lane and West Autumn Place, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
A second alarm was requested at 4:57 p.m., with several structures threatened, the department reported.
An evacuation warning was issued at 5:30 p.m. for the area near Sagecrest Circle and Chicory Court with residents told to prepare to leave.
The fire’s progress was stopped at 6:25 p.m., according to the department.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
