A construction crew working on an apartment building in the Exposition Park area broke a natural gas line Tuesday, causing traffic disruptions in the area.

The three-inch line was damaged around 9 a.m. Tuesday at the site of a six-story apartment building under construction in the 3900 block of South Figueroa Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The SoCal Gas Company was summoned to shut down the line and make repairs, but drivers were likely to encounter traffic disruptions in the area, a fire department spokeswoman said soon after the damage was reported.

No injuries were reported.
