A man was shot in Lancaster Wednesday evening.
Deputies assigned to the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station responded at approximately 6:15 p.m. Wednesday to the 500 block of West Lancaster Boulevard, near Sierra Highway, to reports of a possible shooting, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Details about the shooting remain limited, but a sheriff’s official told City News Service that deputies believed the shooting to be accidental.
The victim arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound, where deputies were informed that he had a firearm in his possession.
The condition of the victim was not disclosed, and it remains unknown if the weapon was registered under his name.
