A young man died Tuesday in a single-vehicle crash on the San Gabriel (605) Freeway in Gardena.
The Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office identified the man as 24-year-old Darrell Woodall of Long Beach.
Officers from the California Highway Patrol responded at 3:50 a.m. Tuesday to the southbound side of the freeway at Alondra Boulevard, where they found the victim, CHP Officer Sergio Garcia told City News Service.
Woodall was pronounced dead at the location.
As of 5:30 a.m. all lanes of the freeway were open, but the off-ramp remained closed until about 8 a.m., the CHP reported.

The 605 doesn’t go anywhere near Gardena. Who fact checks this stuff?
605 freeway is nowhere near gardena. I think the journalist means 405
It was the 605 fwy at the Alondra exit in Norwalk. Gardena has nothing to do with this incident.
