A vehicle caught fire and burst into flames, sending a fireball skyward on the San Diego (405) Freeway in Westwood Thursday.
The vehicle became a ball of flames at 2:14 a. m. Thursday on the northbound freeway near the Wilshire Boulevard off-ramp due to fuel leaking onto the ground from the car, according to a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and extinguished the flames.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
