A 25-year-old man was charged Friday with spray-painting the face of a victim he allegedly robbed and stabbed in Anaheim.
Jose Luis Sandoval of Anaheim was charged with attempted murder, torture, assault with a deadly weapon, robbery, and participating in gang activity, all felonies. He also faces sentencing enhancements for attempted premeditated murder, inflicting great bodily injury, gang activity and the personal use of a deadly weapon.
Sandoval was accused of attacking the man on April 27.
Sandoval was on probation at the time of the alleged attack. He pleaded guilty to assault with a deadly weapon Aug. 19.
The victim told police he was robbed and assaulted by about six gang members in an alley, according to a probation violation petition for Sandoval.
As he was on the ground being punched by others, Sandoval allegedly stabbed him, authorities alleged. The victim’s face was also spray-painted white by his assailants, police alleged.
