A man was shot to death and six other people were wounded during an illegal street takeover Sunday in Carson, authorities said.
Of the six wounded, two were critically wounded and rushed to a hospital, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported.
The shooting occurred at about 3 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Charles Willard Street and Harmen Avenue, just west of Wilmington Avenue.
Deputies dispatched to the scene located three shooting victims. One man was pronounced dead at the scene and two men were rushed to a hospital by paramedics.
“Investigators have learned four additional gunshot victims that were self-transported to local area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries,” sheriff’s officials said. “Investigators have also learned there was a street takeover occurring at the location when the shooting occurred. There were numerous onlookers present, and investigators are urging anyone who was at the takeover to come forward with any information.”
