Firefighters were battling a rapidly burning brush fire Wednesday in Val Verde, but there were no immediate reports of injuries or threats to any structures.
The fire was reported at approximately 4 p.m. near Highway 126 at San Martinez Grande Canyon Road, quickly spreading across more than five acres of brush, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation as firefighters continued efforts to halt the blaze’s forward spread.
