Four people were wounded in three shootings during an eight-minute period Sunday evening in East Los Angeles.

The first shooting occurred at 9:40 p.m. Sunday in the 5900 block of Whittier Boulevard at Leonard Avenue, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Tracy Koerner told City News Service. Two people were wounded there.

At 9:48 p.m., another person was shot and wounded at Amelia Avenue and Sixth Street, less than a mile away, he said.

And within minutes, a fourth person was wounded in yet another shooting at Amelia and Whittier Boulevard, Koerner said.

The genders, ages and conditions of the victims was not immediately available, he said. The shootings are being investigated as if they were related.

Video from the scene of the first shooting showed sheriff’s deputies tending to two victims while awaiting paramedics. The videographer said there was a crowd of Mexico soccer fans in the area after Mexico’s team lost to England in the FIFA World Cup and that witnesses reported multiple vehicles were performing donuts in the intersection when the shooting occurred.
