A woman and a man were shot and killed during a large Fourth of July party at an apartment building in Compton, where three other people were also wounded, including one critically, authorities said Sunday.
It was reported at 11:20 p.m. Saturday in the 700 block of West Laurel Street, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported.
The woman and man were pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said.
“After being pronounced (dead) at the scene, the male was transported due to the large crowd inside the location,” according to the LASD.
The building where the shooting occurred is listed as the New Wilmington Arms Apartments.
A woman and a juvenile female were taken to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, and a man was hospitalized in critical condition, authorities said.
