Four people were injured Tuesday when a traffic crash ended with one vehicle careening onto a sidewalk in Boyle Heights.

The crash occurred shortly after 3 p.m. at Lorena Street and Cesar Chavez Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Reports from the scene indicated at least two vehicles were involved in a crash, and a white SUV wound up on a sidewalk in front of a restaurant.

An LAFD spokeswoman told City News Service three people were taken to hospitals, while another person was treated and released at the scene. The condition of the patients was not immediately available.

KTLA5 reported that one of the patients was in grave condition and may have died at a hospital. Other reports from the scene indicated that a woman suffered a broken leg and a man had a head injury.

No other details about the cause of the crash were immediately available.
