A man struck and killed by a Metro bus in the Skid Row area, possibly during a fight, was identified by authorities Tuesday.
Derris Ellis, 36, suffered blunt force trauma of the torso and died at the scene after being struck at 10:23 p.m. Sunday at 133 E. Sixth St., at Los Angeles Street, according to the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office.
The victim was struck by Metro Bus Line 60, LA Metro spokeswoman Mey Lyn Mitteenn said.
A news videographer who went to the scene spoke to witnesses who claimed the victim was involved in a fight when he fell backward and was run over by the bus.
