A brush fire broke out near a busy freeway junction in Sylmar Wednesday, prompting a quick response by Los Angeles city and county firefighters.
The blaze was reported at 9:47 a.m. Wednesday, and crews were on the scene in two minutes, according a Los Angeles County Fire Department spokeswoman, who said Los Angeles Fire Department personnel were also part of the effort.
Air and ground crews from both agencies were mounting an aggressive attack against the blaze, according to the county fire department spokeswoman.
The LAFD said the fire’s forward progress was stopped at 1 1/2 to 2 acres, with no injuries reported.
