A biker was fatally injured when his Harley-Davidson motorcycle crashed into the rear of a Amazon delivery truck in Huntington Beach, authorities said Sunday.

Officers dispatched about 8:30 p.m Saturday to the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Slater Avenue located the motorcyclist, a 22-year-old Costa Mesa resident, unconscious in the roadway, said Huntington Beach Police Department Public Affairs Officer Jessica Cuchilla.

Paramedics rushed the man to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Cuchilla said.

The biker had been going northbound on Beach Boulevard, south of Slater Avenue, when he lost control of the motorcycle and struck the rear of the gray Amazon delivery truck, that was also going northbound on Beach Boulevard, she said.

“The driver of the Amazon truck, a 27-year-old male from Santa Ana, was uninjured,” she said. “The driver of the Amazon truck cooperated with investigators, and impairment does not appear to be a factor. It is unknown if impairment was a factor with the driver of the Harley-Davidson.”

Anyone with any information regarding the crash was urged to call the Huntington Beach Police Department at 714-536-5231.
