A man was killed and another person was injured in a single-vehicle rollover crash Monday in Indio.
The crash was reported at about 8:15 a.m. Monday on Fred Waring Drive, according to the Indio Police Department.
A blue Toyota Tundra traveling at an unspecified rate of speed westbound on Fred Waring Drive “appeared to lose control” and overturned, ejecting the two adult occupants, police said.
One occupant sustained unspecified injuries and was taken to a hospital, while the other occupant was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
A second vehicle hit debris from the rollover, but was not involved in the initial crash.
The name of the person who died was not immediately released.
Fred Waring Drive was temporarily closed to westbound traffic between Madison and Burr streets. The agency advised motorists to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
