A man is facing possible vandalism charges Monday following his arrest for allegedly attacking a Waymo vehicle in East Hollywood in a rampage caught on a bystander’s video.
The man-versus-machine showdown took place around 1:35 p.m. Saturday in the area of Sunset Boulevard and Edgemont Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Officers responded to a call of a disturbance, with someone reporting that a man with no shirt and brown pants was on top of a car vandalizing the windshield, an LAPD officer said.
Video recorded by a bystander showed the man atop the white driverless car, yanking devices from the roof.
The suspect, who was described as 25 to 35 years old, was taken into custody without further incident, the officer said.
The man was arrested on suspicion of vandalism. His name was not immediately available.
