A pedestrian was killed when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a person who did not stop, authorities said Tuesday.
The crash occurred at about 11:40 p.m. Monday in the area of Ocean Boulevard and Golden Shore, according to Long Beach Police Department Lt. Benjamin Vargas.
Long Beach Fire Department firefighters pronounced the man dead at the scene, Vargas said. His name was not released pending positive identification.
Detectives were on the scene investigating the crash, he said.
Video from the scene showed a shield around the pedestrian’s body in traffic lanes as the investigation got underway. A crosswalk was not visible.
