A barricaded suspect was taken into custody Thursday after a nearly seven-hour standoff with authorities in Lancaster.
Deputies assigned to the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station responded at about 2 p.m. Thursday to the 26800 block of West Avenue C 15, near 269th Street West, regarding a barricaded suspect, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Special Enforcement Bureau personnel, along with Crisis Negotiation Team members, were called to the scene to assist deputies with efforts to make contact with the suspect and take him into custody.
Details about what led up to the suspect barricading himself remain limited.
Sheriff’s officials said the suspect was eventually taken into custody at approximately 8:35 p.m. without further incident.
