A 19-year-old man who died from a shooting in a Long Beach hospital was identified Thursday.
Ethan Coleman died in an emergency room, the Medical Examiner’s office said.
Officers responded about 4:20 p.m. Saturday to a report of shots fired in the 1000 block of Myrtle Avenue, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
“Upon arrival, officers located evidence a shooting had occurred,” according to a police statement. “The suspect(s) fled the scene before officers arrived.”
While they were at the location, officers learned that two men with gunshot wounds had arrived at nearby hospitals.
One of the men had non-life-threatening injuries, but the other one did not make it and was pronounced dead by medical staff, police said.
“Homicide detectives responded to the scene and are working to determine if both shooting victims are related to the shooting in the 1000 block of Myrtle Avenue,” according to the LBPD. “At this time, suspect information, circumstances of the shooting and motive remain under investigation.”

My condolences to Ethan’s family I loved him deeply i genuinely can’t believe what happened. I’m keeping him in my prayers. This was so heartbreaking to hear, he had such an amazing personality I always enjoyed our conversation together we were always laughing together he really did have a big role in my life since I met him. I just want to leave this here because Asaiah was someone who will always have a place in my heart and soul I know he probably would laugh at me rn too cuz I’m writing this but I just wish I could see him laugh one more time his beautiful smile was everything he genuinely is someone I cared for deeply.
