One person died Monday when a white BMW sedan hit the K-rail on the eastbound Foothill (210) Freeway, damaged up to 200 feet of guardrail fence and overturned into the right hand shoulder embankment in Irwindale.
The crash was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 1:55 a.m. on the Foothill Freeway west of Irwindale Avenue.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, the CHP said.
The CHP shut down the slow lane but traffic was flowing in remaining lanes.
A news videographer reported that a second person was inside the vehicle but their condition was not known.
