A man in his 40s was shot in the Pico-Union district Wednesday evening.
Officers responded at approximately 7:50 p.m. to the 1700 block of South New England Street, one block south of Venice Boulevard, to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The victim was taken to a hospital following the shooting near West 17th Street and Orchard Avenue in unknown condition, police said.
At least three suspects were last seen near Arapahoe Street and Washington Boulevard.
Police said that the weapon used during the shooting was an unspecified caliber.
