An allegedly armed man wanted for domestic violence and arson was taken into custody after barricading himself inside a Palmdale residence, authorities said Friday.
The incident was reported about 9:30 p.m. Thursday in the 3000 block of Tumbleweed Drive, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The department’s Special Enforcement Bureau, under the direction of Lt. Andrew Toone, responded to assist the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station at approximately 9:58 p.m. and assumed tactical command of the scene.
The sheriff’s Crisis Negotiation Team attempted to contact the adult male suspect to bring the standoff to a peaceful resolution. After SEB personnel arrived and made additional announcements, the suspect surrendered and was taken into custody without incident.
