A crash that reportedly involved a wrong-way driver, a box truck and other vehicles shut down the westbound Foothill (210) Freeway.

The crash was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 5:48 p.m. Saturday on the 210 just east of the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway in what the California Highway Patrol described as the Lake View Terrace area. The Los Angeles Fire Department identified the location as being in Pacoima.

The CHP was informed that two vehicles crashed due to a big rig and a wrong-way driver. A woman was heard crying on an open phone line. A witness then reported that a box truck was on its side and on fire.

The LAFD sent trucks ambulances to the scene, spokeswoman Lyndsey Lantz said.

“Firefighters extinguished one box truck involved with fire,” Lantz said. “Four patients are being assessed for treatment/transport.”

The CHP issued a SigAlert about 6:15 p.m. shutting down all westbound 210 lanes west of Osborne Street. One lane was reopened at 6:37 p.m.
