Two men were taken into custody in connection with a burglary investigation that led to the recovery of multiple firearms, police announced Monday.

Anthony Villalobos, 45, of Pasadena, and 62-year-old Jerry Schroeder of East Los Angeles were both arrested Friday after investigators served search warrants at several locations in Los Angeles County, according to the Pasadena Police Department.

Police said the investigation began around 8 p.m. Wednesday when officers made a traffic stop at an undisclosed location, where they seized two AR-15 rifles, police said. The rifles were believed to among several firearms that were taken during a July 19 burglary in Pasadena.

On Friday, Street Crimes Unit investigators conducted a follow-up operation, which led them to recover the outstanding rifles from the burglary along with additional firearms, police said. Investigators recovered a total of two handguns, four AR-15-style rifles, a .308 semi-automatic sniper rifle, and a 30-06 bolt-action sniper rifle.

Several hundred rounds of ammunition were also recovered, along with dozens of high-capacity magazines, police said.

No other details were released.
