Police sought the public’s help Wednesday tracking down a driver who left the scene after seriously injuring a man in his 30s as the victim crossed a street in the Pico-Union neighborhood of Los Angeles.
The pedestrian was struck just after 11 p.m. on July 13 at the intersection of Hoover and London streets, near the Hollywood (101) Freeway, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police said a white sedan was traveling south on Hoover and negotiating a left turn onto London when it hit the pedestrian, who was headed north through the intersection.
“The driver of the vehicle failed to stop, render aid and remain at scene, as required by law, and fled eastbound on London Street,” according to an LAPD statement. “Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was treated for (his) injuries.”
