A man holed up overnight inside a home in Lancaster has been taken into custody, authorities said Friday.
Deputies assigned to the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station, with assistance from Special Enforcement Bureau personnel, responded at approximately 7 p.m. Thursday to the 3700 block of West Avenue K, where the male suspect had barricaded himself, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Special Enforcement Bureau personnel assumed the tactical command, with assistance from Crisis Negotiation Team personnel.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department did not release an approximate time of when the suspect was taken into custody but announced the conclusion of the standoff at 1:02 a.m.
“The area was deemed safe, and all neighborhood evacuees were allowed to return to their homes,” according to an LASD statement. “There is no additional information available at this time.”
