A commercial burglary at a pet store in Los Angeles’ Fairfax District is under investigation after a suspect broke into the business early Saturday morning and fled before officers arrived, authorities said.

Officers responded to a business alarm at approximately 4:30 a.m. Saturday in the 7500 block of Beverly Boulevard, according to Public Information Officer Jeff Lee of the Los Angeles Police Department.

By the time officers arrived, the suspect had fled with an unknown amount of property.

The burglary is being investigated by the LAPD’s Wilshire Division. Police released no suspect description, and it was not immediately clear whether investigators had recovered surveillance video.
