A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed Monday on the Santa Monica (10) Freeway.
The victim was struck about 3:45 a.m. on the westbound side of the freeway west of Vermont Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
All lanes were initially closed before the far left lane was reopened.
