A 61-year-old pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle on the westbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway in South Los Angeles was identified Wednesday.
The victim was struck about 3:45 a.m. Monday west of Vermont Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
He was identified Wednesday by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner as Keith Williams, who sustained blunt trauma.
All lanes were initially closed before the far left lane was reopened.
