A vehicle occupant died after suffering an unspecified medical emergency on westbound Interstate 10 near Blythe, authorities said Friday.
The medical emergency call was reported shortly after 10:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the California Highway Patrol. The nature of the emergency was not disclosed.
Officers and paramedics arrived and attempted livesaving measures, but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The person was identified only as a passenger in a vehicle, and their name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
