Downey police shot and killed a suspect Saturday, but details about what led to the fatal gunfire were not immediately provided.
The shooting was reported at 7:50 a.m. Saturday in the 11800 block of Downey Avenue at De Palma Street, a couple blocks west of Lakewood Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. LASD homicide detectives were assisting in the shooting investigation.
“The suspect was struck by gunfire and pronounced deceased at the scene,” the LASD said.
His name was not immediately available.
No officers were injured, sheriff’s officials said.
