An assault at the Splash House electronic music festival in Palm Springs left nine people injured Sunday, authorities said.
Officers working the event responded to a report of an assault at around 1:40 a.m. Sunday, the Palm Springs Police Department reported. Additional officers responded to the scene and secured the area during the investigation.
Authorities said a dispute between an unknown number of people escalated, with bottles being thrown into the crowd, according to the police department.
Nine people who were not involved in the initial dispute suffered minor injuries from broken glass; two of them were treated at the scene and seven others were taken to a hospital.

The festival, now in its 13th year, runs through Sunday at the Hilton Palm Springs, Renaissance Palm Springs Hotel and the Saguaro Palm Springs. A second festival weekend is scheduled for Aug. 14-16.
An after-hours event was held Friday night at the Palm Springs Air Museum, featuring performances by Odd Mob, Biscuits and Slamm, and Naar.
Other artists appearing over the two festival weekends include Alleycvt, Josh Baker, Foster the People DJ set, Layton Giordani, Alison Wonderland, D.O.D, Prospa, Tiga, Broken Hill, Gudfella, Bridge, Mall Grab and Tsu Nami.
