A homeless man who was fatally shot in South Los Angeles was identified by county authorities Tuesday.
Officers responded around 6:45 p.m. Monday to an area near San Pedro Street and East Colden Avenue to reports of a shooting, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The responding officer located the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office identified the man as 39-year-old Terry Johnson, who was unhoused.
Details about what led up to the shooting remain under investigation, with no description of a suspect released.
